WEDDINGS

Planning a wedding? From the first kiss to the first dance, there is a lot to fit into one day, but booking Ruth Segaud Photography means that you will have a beautiful record of the celebration, to relive again and again.

I shoot in a natural and creative documentary-style, and I will capture all the colours, smiles and emotions of the day, without being invasive. Having worked in the wedding industry as a musician since 2011, I have witnessed a variety of photographers (including one unusual moment where the photographer stepped out into the aisle in front of the bride as she made her entrance, to make her pose for a photo!) – and I truly believe that the best photographers are always the ones you don’t really notice. My main aim is always to capture a true representation of your wedding.

While I will do my best to blend into the background for most of the day, we will take some time after the ceremony to shoot your couple portraits. This is the perfect opportunity to take yourselves away for a moment and enjoy some time together {usually for the first time as newlyweds!}. I can give you some direction if required, but don’t worry, I won’t make you do any awkward or cheesy poses, I want this time to be as natural and relaxed as possible. You might even enjoy it!

Family and group shots are important too, in years to come you’ll want to have a record of all the special people who shared the celebration with you. I do like to keep these to a minimum though, in order to avoid too much hanging around {and allow you to have a drink or two!}, but we can discuss and organise these before the big day.

THE INVESTMENT

Your wedding photography is one of the few things from the day that you will be able to enjoy year after year, and with Ruth Segaud Photography you’ll be in safe hands that those memories will be preserved. From finalising the booking, right through to the delivery of your images, I will be there to help at every stage, and will be more than happy to offer advice or recommendations for any other aspect of your wedding. Having performed with my string quartet at over 1000 weddings I have certainly picked up a few tips along the way! To keep things simple I offer two packages, depending on the coverage required, with no sneaky hidden costs…

BOTH PACKAGES INCLUDE…

+ Pre-Wedding phone or Skype consultation. A face-to-face meeting in Perth may also be possible, if required.

Travel within 50 miles of Perth, but happy to travel further.

All images shot by Ruth using two professional cameras and a range of lenses and back-up equipment.

A sneak peek preview on social media of 5-10 images within a couple of days of the wedding.

All final images individually and sympathetically edited, and delivered, within 6 weeks of the wedding (although usually quicker).

A short slideshow of highlights from the wedding, set to music.

+ Access to a password-protected online gallery of all the final images, with the option to order prints directly, or download the images and print your own. The gallery can also be accessed on your mobile device via a special app.

+ You will receive a little box of goodies in the post, including a wooden USB stick with all the final images in high resolution {for printing} and low resolution {for sharing on social media}, with permission to print for personal use.

+ The option to order a beautiful photo album from a range of different styles and designs, featuring your favourite photographs from the wedding.

WHY BOOK A PRE-WEDDING SHOOT?

1.  It’s a great trial run for being in front of the camera on your wedding day, especially for those of you who are camera shy!

2.  You’ll receive a collection of images of just the two of you, doing something you love. Wedding photos are great, but it’s also nice to have a few professional photographs taken when you are dressed in your everyday clothes.

3.  Not only will these photographs look amazing on your walls {or your Facebook profile}, they are also perfect to use for your Save the Date cards, wedding invitations or the guest book.

4.  The session is a great opportunity for me to get to know the two of you, and vice versa, before the wedding. There will be plenty of time for wedding chat between shots, or you can use the session to step away from all the planning and just spend some quality time with your partner.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is your booking procedure?

Once you are happy to go ahead with the booking I will send you a digital contract to sign, and a non-refundable deposit of £250 for the full-day or £150 for the half-day will be required in order to confirm the booking. Payment can be made via bank transfer or cheque. We can also discuss the different options for adding a pre-wedding shoot and/or wedding album.

Where are you based?

I live in Perth, Scotland but am more than happy to travel across the UK and beyond to capture your wedding. Travel charges for venues within 50 miles of Perth are included with both my wedding packages. For venues outwith this area please get in touch and I will calculate any additional costs.

Do you use a second photographer?

On the day I will be there with my cameras and I will capture all the key moments of the day, plus lots of the smaller details too. I am happy working on my own but if I feel that a second shooter may be required I will discuss this with you.

Do you take formal group shots?

Getting family and group shots are important, but I like to keep these fairly informal and recommend a limit of about 10 groups. Depending on numbers this will usually take about 20-30 minutes during the drinks reception, hopefully leaving you enough time to have a drink or two!

Can I print my photographs?

Although I retain the copyright to all images, you will receive standard printing permission. This means that you won’t be able to sell, modify or use the images commercially, but you are able to print as many as you like for your own personal use.

Do we need to provide anything on the day?

For the full-day package I will usually take a break during the meal, so a hot meal and soft drink would be really appreciated during this time.

What happens if you are ill on the day?

I would have to be seriously ill to not attend your wedding. Should the worst happen I will do my best to find you a suitable replacement. A full refund would be made in the unlikely event that this could not be achieved.
