Hey, I’m Ruth Segaud (pronounced say-go!), it’s great to meet you.
I’ve always loved taking photographs. I was the one with a camera in my hand at school parties and the one who took headshots of friends at music college. For me it’s not so much about creating pieces of art (although thankfully my photography is a lot more creative now!), it’s about documenting memories. My camera roll is my diary, and I feel very privileged that my amazing couples and families allow me to document their everyday, and not-so-everyday, moments.
5 fun facts that you didn’t know you needed to know…
1. I’ve always been a cat person, but don't worry dog owners, your furry friends are more than welcome at your session…. and who doesn’t love dogs at weddings!?
2. Michael and I have been together since our Freshers Ball at the Royal Northern College of Music way back in 2006, and got to plan our own wedding at Errol Park in 2014.
3. I love travelling and have spent time teaching in Thailand and backpacking in India. Holidays with the kids are slightly less wild now… you’re more likely to find us in a caravan somewhere in Scotland!
4. I’m a classically trained violinist and have performed for a few famous faces (including Queen Elizabeth II and Rita Ora) while running my own wedding and events music business. I also trained with Musique et Santé in Paris, worked as a musician in Manchester Children’s Hospital and completed an Early Years Postgraduate Certificate!
